Re: Part of poster sized PDFs won't print

Print as an image is a workaround, not a solution. If print as image prints, the PDF file is OK.

The trick here is that Acrobat does the ripping work instead the printer. However, as you saw, print as image does not produce the same quality and it adds to the printing time.

Your problem looks very much like a printer memory‘s problem. As a first diagnose, I would say that the printer is running out of memory during the print.

Re: Some of my saved PDF files will not print. The print window opens, I click on print, but a blank page is pushed through. Acrobat 8.1.0, MacBook Pro, HPC7280. Some print, older docs do not.

In mac OSX "El Capitan", I discovered that if you go into the print dialogue box, you can select either the B&W print option or the Color/B&W "auto" mode under the "Basic" settings, AND then if you also go to advanced settings and select "Low" for the improved barcode print option, that the native Mac OSX printer drivers will then print straight B&W text. with the barcode print option set to "Off", it only prints blank pages in either auto color/B&W or forced B&W mode for pages that contain fonts that are grayscale.

Alternatively, you can manually set your default font color to RBG=0,0,0 (for new docs) or select all the text and change its color to RBG=0,0,0 and then use either the auto color/B&W mode or forced B&W mode, and it should print black font just fine.

acrobat will not print on mac os 10.13.

Hi Gmcspp,

Sorry for the delay in response.

Try setting the color profile under Preferences > Color Management and see if that works.

Dear All,

I experienced the same problem printing to Adobe but I resolved it by making sure that the path to the folder I was saving the Adobe file does not have any special character and it worked.

So, I advise that you save the Adobe file into a folder whose path (including the file name) has no special characters like (, ), <, >, !, etc.  Try it and let me know if it works.  My e-mail is [Moderator: Personal information removed ]

Thank you all.

Re: Change default profile for Output Preview?

I went through all the links and the only thing that seems to help was changing the CMYK profile from CGATS21_CRPC6.icc (GraCol profile from Idealliance) to Photoshop 5 Default CMYK.  After I did that, the output preview stayed on that profile. However, I need it to stay on my CGATS21 profile. If I have it set like the attached screenshot.

The only type of PDF that will come up with the correct profile are the "X" series files that have the output intent profile enabled.

That's not what I'm looking for.  I'm looking to have my CMYK profile (CGATS21) to be active any time I open a PDF.

Hi DrewMalta,

Sorry for the delayed response and inconvenience caused. Please check for any pending updates of Acrobat from help>check for updates, reboot the machine after installing the updates.

Please try saving the files locally to your desktop or anywhere on the local hard drive and then try to print and see if the error pops up.

The error message is related to the read and writes permission to Adobe folders, please refer to the following KB article to give read and write permission to Adobe folders which I have shared via private message, please check your email inbox.

If the issue still persists, please use Acrobat cleaner tool to remove Acrobat from the machine Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Reboot and install Acrobat from Download Pro or Standard versions of Acrobat DC | Non-subscription

Re: How do I utilize multiple adobe PDF printers without having them share printing preferences?

Hello Farzad,

Sorry for the delayed response and inconvenience caused. Creating multiple Adobe PDFPrinter instances, and having different printer preferences is not an Adobe design behavior, and multiple PDF Printer instances may or may not have same preferences.

There is no such workflow to make changes and have multiple PDFPrinters with different preferences.

However, if you wish, you can file a feature request for the same to have multiple PDFPrinter with different Printer preferences through Feature Request/Bug Report Form

Feel free to update this discussion for any further assistance.

Anand Sri.

Hello EricRic,

Sorry for the delayed response and inconvenience caused. As per the description above, you are not able to print a PDF in Black&White is that correct?

Please refer and try the suggestion from the following KB articles Print in black and white using Acrobat or Reader

Printing color PDFs (Adobe Acrobat Pro)

Note: The above suggestions may or may not work as Acrobat 10 is already declared as End of support product. End of Support means that Adobe no longer provides technical support or distributes runtimes. This policy affects product and security updates for all derivatives of a product or product version (localized versions, minor upgrades, operating systems, dot and double-dot releases, and connector products). For detailed information, refer to End of support for Acrobat X and Reader X

Bonjour,
