Re: I'm trying to print an A1 building plan and the colours are really light, almost invisible. How can i print it with darker colours ?

I know that with us, lines were in light colours because the draftsmen used a black background. When you output your file, there is a "PEN TRANSLATION TABLE". This is really a CAD problem and no Acrobat problem.

I loaded very often drawings from PDF into Illustrator for making fancy graphics. There I could change the colours to my liking.

Re: Cannot Print Any PDF file - MacOS High Sierra 10.13.2 Error can't open /private/var/spool/cups/tmp/

Ok, that could be the case, but what could be the source of the issue then? Where should I look?

To me this does seem like Adobe+Mac issue, since there are plenty of reported problems identical to this on other fora (see the links I provided), same symptoms (error can't open /private/var/spool/cups/tmp/...), always Adobe on Mac, other apps print w/o errors.

I often get forms that have been scanned and when converted to pdf the normally white page is now shaded, I would like to print the page without the background shading.

I need to print a form that I often receive from different sources with different levels of background shading.  I essentially only want the text on the page to print and not the background shading of the page.  White page, black text.  Any ideas

Printing a pdf with annotation comments- Adobe directions not working

I am trying to print a pdf downloaded from Canvas LMS that has annotations on it.  In the past we could print the document with annotations easily by selecting Document and Markups when printing.  We now do that, and it doesn't print the comments and annotations.  We have even made sure that the preferences for commenting have Print Notes and Popups checked and Hide comment pop ups turned off.

We could print this way just a few weeks ago, with no new changes to settings in Adobe Acrobat.

Hello Suzanc,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused, as per the description above, when you are trying to print any PDF file, Acrobat stops responding, Is that correct?

Please check for any pending updates of Acrobat from help>check for updates, reboot the machine after installing the updates.

Try repairing the Acrobat from help>repair installation(only for Windows machine), reboot the machine and try printing the PDF file and see if this brings any difference.

Try printing the PDF file as an Image, Under Print dialogue > select your printer from the drop-down list > click Advanced > check the box which says Print as Image > click OK, Launch Acrobat and try printing.

You may also refer to Print PDF as image | Adobe Acrobat, Reader

If the issue still persists, please share the following details:

Let us know how it goes and share your findings.

Anand Sri.

Interesting speed hump we've found here.

We're printing out a PMS swatch sheet for all our digital presses to print and compare

The PMS swatches are all spots with one group in LAB spot and the other in CMYK spot created in illustrator using Solid Pantone Colour book
When looking at the file in output preview, certain spots are process but when viewed in pitstop inspector, the spot is defined correctly

What version of Pro do you use and what version of Reader? How was the document (documents) created?

This looks for me like a font mapping error.

Try printing with "Print as image" on (in the advanced tab of the printing dialogue of Acrobat).

Is it possible to share a culprit document with the community? If not (for confidentiality or © reasons) is it possible to create a dummy file with the error in?

Booklet and bleed

I export an InDesign-file with bleed to PDF.

Then I want to use the booklet option in the print menu.

UnfortunatelyAcrobat doesn't remove the bleed in the spine.

How can I let Acrobat remove the bleed in the spine using the Booklet option from Acrobat Pro (V2018)?

There is a post in this chat down the page a bit that works. Setting your printer up to its IP address and then changing protocol.  Worked for me.

I assume that you are referring to the Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2230 printer with the optional support for Adobe PostScript 3.

Given the settings that you have, especially the grayed out PostScript options and even the ability to select sRGB as the printer's color space, it would appear that Acrobat on the Mac is not recognizing the printer as a PostScript printer. Possibly, whoever setup the drivers on your Mac provided you with the drivers for Canon's proprietary UFR II language, not PostScript. (Since PostScript is only an option for this printer, from my personal experience, the driver typically offered first to you is not the PostScript driver, at least on the Mac.)

Check that out and make sure that the PostScript driver is what is installed and report back whether the problem has been resolved.

The message on the screen popped up and said Adobe update.  It looked like it was from Adobe.

Hello Robert,

Sorry for the delayed response and inconvenience caused. What is the dot version of Acrobat installed on the server on which you are facing the print issue? To identify refer to Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Install the latest drivers for the printer installed, Try resetting the preferences of Acrobat once, to reset the preferences, refer to How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default.

Is it possible to share a screenshot or Vidoe recording of the sluggish screen and auto printer name change? To share the screenshot, please use Adobe Send feature, upload the file, share the link to files via private message only, How Do I Send Private Message

Let us know how it goes and share your findings.

Anand Sri.

Hi Kashifu,

As, Abambo, mentioned this is a hardware driven feature. If your printer doesn't support this feature, you won't get the option on the print dialog window.

Feel free to update the discussion if you have further questions.

Part of poster sized PDFs won't print

I have an HP Designjet T1100 plotter and print posters of a wide range of sizes built in a variety of software applications (AI, Powerpoint, Canvas, etc.).  I have traditionally had everyone give me their files as a .PDF in order to standardize the printing procedure.  I have always set the print size to Postscript Custom Page Size via the print utility, and used whatever dimensions we wanted out relative to size of the media (often using the media size as my custom size when not resizing).  Recently, I have started to have a consistent problem where a piece at the end of the print won't print.  This has occurred on posters created by different users using different software as well as on reprints of old print jobs that had previously printed without issue.  I uninstalled the plotter, deleted the driver and port, and reinstalled everything.  I checked for Acrobat updates.  The problem persists.

I'm sending the job over our intranet from a Surface Pro running Windows 10.

I did find that if I selected "Print as Image" in the Advanced Print Setup tab, that seems to solve the problem most of the time (not always), but it also changes the print quality.  This has become a major issue and I desperately need help!

*for what it's worth, I did replace the formatter board on the Designjet for the second time maybe 6 months ago, so that should not be an issue

Why is Acrboat DC 2017 intermittently unable to print some PDFs but FoxIt Reader and Acrobat XI have no issues?

For example, this PDF from Honeywell for installing a light switch fails on DC 2017:  https://customer.honeywell.com/resources/techlit/TechLitDocuments/69-0000s/69-2455EFS.pdf.

Some PDFs succeed, most fail with DC 2017.  Another observation is when attempting to print in DC 2017, the print job doesn't even get queued.  With FoxIt and Acrobat XI, the job queues and is printed as expected.

DC 2017 is on version 17.011.30079

FoxIt is on version 9.0.1.1049

Acrobat XI is on version 11.0.23

It works great! Agree, I can't use rounding to any whole integer. However, the script displays 7 decimals! Is there a way to incorporate rounding to only 3 decimals (thousandths)

app.alert("Trim: " + Math.round(width*0.0138889*1000)/1000 + " in x " + Math.round(height*0.0138889*1000)/1000 + " in");

I’ve added the *1000 just for clarity. You can do the math beforehand and multiply the width simply with 13,8889 instead.

What is your OS and version? What is your printer?

Did you try Print as image (from the advanced button on the print dialogue box)?
