On an unrelated note, I actually found a use for the art box for when I prepress files that you may find useful. I usually set the art box to be inset 1/8 inch (less or more depending on how the job is being printed) to function as guides so I can confirm there's no content too close to the edge of the piece on customer provided files. I've found this especially useful for saddle stitched books to make sure content doesn't get cut off when the cutter does the final edge trim after the books are bound. In those cases I'll set the left and right art box insets in a little further depending on how many pages and how thick the paper is.
