The issue that I am currently having is that when I look at certain PDFs on my acrobat Standard XI Version 11 that the PDF looks fine when I look at it but when I print the PDF it will be missing text. What is happening is that some of the fonts are not working correctly and are not being printed when the PDF is printed. I am not interested in having the document printed as a image and I am not interested in change the print properties of the file. The reason that I am not interested in changing the print properties is because I am placing these PDF on my website, and then my customers will look at my data sheets and then try to print the PDFs. Unfortunately I have no way to make sure that the PDF are correctly done so that they are made so that everyone can see and print the same thing. I have this same issue when I use adobe reader 10 as well.
I have looked at the review boards and it seems like there is an issue with the compatibility of the fonts with the PDF programs (Acrobat Reader, Acrobat Standard, and Acrobat Pro). We are using the same program to make these PDF as we did before, Indesign 8. We have updated Indesign to the latest version and we are still having issue. We have also updated Acrobat 11 and Acrobat Reader to the latest version. Acrobat reader 11 and Acrobat Pro 10.1.11 is working fine but Acrobat Standard 11 is not working. We have tried to go to a previous version of a PDF where our PDF work fine, such PDF Version 1.6, but unfortunately I am having this problem now when I am developing new data sheets. I have tried to have every PDF Version from 1.7 to 1.3 and I am still having the issue. I have also updated and re-installed and updated Indesign.
My question is how do I get a PDF to be able to be seen on all PDF readers and not have this issue of printing with missing text? Do I need to purchase a new program? Is there a bug fix that I need to execute? I need to have a PDF that is printed with my fonts and will print like how it looks. Right now I have the latest and greatest programs from Adobe but I would like to be told exactly what I need to do for my PDF to be able to be read by everyone and be able to be printed without missing text.
