I am not intentionally flattening anything. I am using the standard PDF/X 1a setting which flattens transparency.

Perhaps it is worth experimenting with flattening separately, in case it does it differently. If you've already flattened transparency, the PDF/X-1a conversion won't have to.

I've noticed that the acrodist.exe process has a timeout of 5 minutes. If it has been idle for 5 minutes then it exits. Is this timeout value configurable? Thanks,Paul
