I am experiencing verry slow printing of some PDF documents on HP LaserJets. I've already confirmed the paper type and am not printing as image. Any suggestions?

I am experiencing extremely slow printing of SOME pdf documents. I've confirmed that I've selected plain paper and am not printing as an image.  This happens on 2 separate HP LaserJet printers. I've updated the firmware and am using the most current drivers and firmware.
