A pdf that will print at A3 or A4 size on a multifunction device will not print at A0 on an HP1050C plotter. I get an error msg saying can't print - no pages selected. How can I get round this?

I created a map in ArcView then saved it as an A0 size pdf. I can print it at A3 or A4 size to a Xerox multifunction device without any problems. However if I or others try to print it out at A0 using HP1050C plotters it throws up an error message saying that it cannot be printed. No pages have been selected.  Is there a solution to this?
