Just wanted to throw my hat into the ring. This exact issue is happening to one of our users.
We've had him change PCs - twice. The issue follows him as a user. Not sure if this means it's the printer he uses, or just the way he uses the PC, but the symptoms are the same - once the issue is "triggered", we get application hangs from:
a) Acrobat when trying to print, and
b) Any program trying to print a PDF
Other printing works fine after closing the hung applications, but nothing will get Acrobat/PDF printing back until a PC reboot.
The user originally had a number of printers deployed via script from a server share. Once he started having this issue, we removed the shared printers and only installed the two printers he ever uses locally via IP address. His main printer is an HP Laserjet with a PCL driver.
Hoping there are others that have found answers! We use the same version of Acrobat mentioned at the beginning of the post.
