Thanks for the follow-up, Mark.

To answer your question, I do not make any font decisions before printing - I just select File, Print... then Print (after orientation, margin and page selection) or just click on the Print icon.  So I guess I am going with whatever is the default font-source.

 

The workaround (Print,Advanced,Print as Image) seems to work OK - especially now that I have set it to 600 dpi which gives crisper printed images.

But it would be worth finding out why Adobe presents all these errors unlike other software.
